Fruit purée and mixer brand Funkin is carving out a space for itself in the ready-to-drink (RTD) market with the on-trade launch of canned cocktails.
The range boasts a Passion Fruit Martini, an Espresso Martini, an Amaretto Sour and a Pink Gin Fizz. Each of the serves clocks in at 5% abv and is infused with nitrogen, which, according to the brand, gives the drinks a smooth, creamy texture similar to the one achieved by shaking a cocktail.
Funkin cites the consumer demand for cocktails as the motivation behind the new range. ‘With around eight million consumers drinking cocktails on a night out, we would urge on-trade outlets to capitalise on the huge trend,’ commented Ben Anderson, the company’s marketing director.
‘Our product development team has worked tirelessly to ensure that Funkin nitro canned cocktails deliver the best overall drinking experience compared to anything else on the market.
‘[The canned range is] perfectly suited to outlets wishing to serve cocktails but don’t have the necessary tools or trained staff. Whether a pub, restaurant, venue or festival, we are making high quality, consistent cocktails accessible to every bartender, everywhere.’
Funkin’s nitro canned cocktails will be available from May.
