Promotion: Prove your cocktail competition prowess at Four Pillars’ Australian Gin Open

Other: Competitions

Fancy yourself a master of crafting cocktails with that perennially popular juniper spirit? Then Four Pillars Gin has just the comp for you.

The craft gin brand has opened applications for its second-annual Australian Gin Open, a competition that tasks UK bartenders with creating a signature cocktail using Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin, and, if they progress to the regional final round, another using any of Four Pillars’ three other variants.

After bartenders submit their recipes online, two finalists will be chosen from each of the four UK regions – that’s the north, the south, London and Scotland – to compete in the Grand Final on 1 July at none other than Imbibe Live! All eight competitors will receive tickets to the show, and when they’re not battling it out onstage, they’ll be able to hit the floor and sample selections from the best brands around.

Once the competition heats up, contenders will battle it out in front of esteemed judges Stuart Gregor, co-founder of Four Pillars, and Cameron Mackenzie, co-founder and head distiller.

Two champions will be chosen – and they’ll get more than just bragging rights and a swig of Bloody Shiraz for the road.

Those lucky winners receive the trip of a lifetime to Australia, the home of Four Pillars Gin. During their time in the land down under, they’ll distil their own gin with Mackenzie at the Four Pillars Distillery in the Yarra Valley. Afterwards, they’ll head to Sydney and Melbourne to experience the best bars, landmarks and beaches the cities have to offer.

Last year’s final at Imbibe Live was a gin-soaked good time, and with double the contestants, this year promises double the fun.

Got a brilliant cocktail idea? Then get moving – applications close 26 April. Visit the competition’s website to learn more and to enter.
