It was never going to be long before the big guys picked up on wine’s burgeoning cool status. The latest is Aussie giant Hardys, launching a central London pop-up wine bar, 1853 Club, this weekend.
Displaying immense confidence, the brand is referring to the likes of Sager + Wilde, Terroir New York and 28-50 as its temporary wine bar’s equals. Just to be sure, though, it’s signed up former member of Blur and cheese maker Alex James to be involved. His cheeses will be paired with a selection of the wine brand’s Chardonnays.
Chardonnay’s the star of the show, in fact. In addition to the Chardonnay and cheese tasting sessions, special tasting paddles showcasing the brand’s Chardonnays will be available.
